However, a deregulated immune system is also implicated in many diseases such as diabetes, lupus, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and atherosclerosis.

By understanding the immune system we can improve vaccination, control autoimmunity and prevent or reverse infectious diseases and cancer.
